Kensli Update

April 11, 2007, we were at Texas Children's Hospital at 8 am for tests. Kensli was tired and not very happy about having to be poked and looked at by strangers! They sedated her and told us that it should knock her out until they were finished and that she should be sleepy most of the day! Not Kensli!!!! She woke up before they finished everything and was wild the rest of the day!

We met with 2 doctors who gave us two different methods to choose from to correct Kensli's problem. The first doctor was a rather hyper man that made me nervous! His name was Dr. Nugent and he could perform the procedure using a coil to plug up the hole through the groin. I was not impressed with the thought of a foreign object that hadn't been tested for very long left in Kensli's body. The next doctor, Dr. Frasier, talked to us about the more traditional method of correcting the PDA. There was such a peace that came into that room with him. Kensli would have to undergo traditional surgery and be in the hospital 3 to 4 days. Once Dr. Frasier corrects the problem it is over for ever! Dr. Nugent couldn't promise this!!!

We left the hospital praying for wisdom and consulted with Dr. Manuel on Monday! He confirmed what we were thinking and we have decided to go with more traditional method.
