On the Farm

Toby's nephew called the other day and asked us if we wanted 200 ears of sweet corn. "Yes" was the answer we gave, and here are the pictures to prove it! We put up 30 packages. Hopefully we will get some more before the corn season is over.

Granny and Kaitlyn getting started!

Working hard!

Even Kensli got in on the act!

Can you see the concentration?

Nicholas worked very hard but was very scared of the worms! The first worms we found gave Nic, Kaitlyn, and Ricky quite a scare; but after the first few Ricky and Kaitlyn were ok. Granny made the comment that we needed to save them and then go fishing. Kaitlyn took that up as her battle cry!

It is so great to be able for the kids to experience such hands-on activities. It will really become real to them this winter when we are having fresh corn that they helped to put up!
