Chopsticks

My kids love Ramen noodles!!!! They will eat them for breakfast, lunch or dinner!!! Kaitlyn uses them to practice her chopstick skills. Tonight, Kensli decided to follow Kaitlyn's example!
Kaitlyn is pretty good with chopsticks.

Kensli using her chopsticks.

She is actually getting something to her mouth!

Slurping her noodles like pro.

Nicholas and his fork

He will not even try to use the chopsticks! Guess he thinks he can't get enough to his mouth.

Pacifier Days

Friday morning, Kensli woke up saying her paci was hurting her teeth. I figured that was the sign I needed to break her from the habit. "OH, MY! HER TEETH WILL BE FOREVER DAMAGED IF I DON'T BREAK THE PACIFIER HABIT," is what I was thinking! I decided to try a trick that my mother had told me about. You snip the end of the pacifier off with scissors and give it back to the child. This snipping renders the pacifier useless, and, of course, you do all the snipping in secret. I took the pacifier from Kensli and snipped the end off. When I gave it back to her, she immediately popped it back in her mouth. All it took is one suck and she took it out with a very puzzled look on her face. She examined it carefully and said, "UH, Mommy, it has a hole in it!" I said, "It sure does! Your teeth must have broken your paci." She didn't care for the idea but was rather puzzled for quite awhile. She would take it out and put it back in all morning. Finally, she abandoned it on her bed.

Around lunch she started asking for a pacifier. Ricky went and got the one on her bed and brought it to her. When she saw it was the one with the hole, she threw it at him. When she threw the pacifier, it hit the corner of the glass table top in our breakfast room and broke the corner off. WARNING: Don't ever make Kensli mad at you!!!!!!!!

Friday afternoon she asked for a pacifier again. I told her that her teeth were getting to big for the pacifier and that her teeth would start hurting again. She said, "Mommy, can we go to Wal-Mawt and get a little, bitty baby paci that want hut my teef?" Wow, what a little smarty!

Kaitlyn's Classroom

I posted earlier that Kailtyn loves to play school in the evenings with the younger crew. I took a couple of pictures of the class in progress.

Kaitlyn's teaching seems to be driving Nic to pull his hair out!

What she is trying to teach!

October means Chocolate Lips, Balloon Flowers, and Swim "Soups"

October is a fun time of the year. The weather has finally cooled off enough to be enjoyable and there are campfires, family weekend, chocolate lips, balloon flowers, swim "soups", and college football.
Nicholas always wants chocolate milk in the morning! Somedays we heat it and others he wants it cold. I couldn't resist taking his picture this morning with his chocolate lips.
Mr. Mark made Kensli this flower at Family Nite last night. She loved it so much that she wanted to sleep with the flower. She went to sleep holding the stem. As you can tell, she is still loving it today!!!!!!!!!

Kensli and her balloon flower!

Some very cute kids!!!!!

We all know October is the prime month for wearing the latest swim wear. Kensli loves this swim suit and won't take it off some days. She calls it her swim "soup".

Another swim "soup" shot!

The Way Things Go

School is moving on this year. It seems strange to think that we started on August 20th. It just doesn't seem like it has been that long! Here are a few things that have been happening lately.

Ricky-- The newness of the year has worn off significantly! Sometimes it is hard to find things that motivate when they are home all day! LSU football is what motivates Ricky this time of the year!!!! I think that he would do anything to keep from getting grounded from going to the games! Also, Ricky is really enjoying his new math curriculum. I gave him a placement test and he scored a level above where I thought that he should be. Saxon 65 is challenging him and he is enjoying the challenge.

Kaitlyn-Last year I was not sure about Kaitlyn's desire to be in school! It was such a struggle!!!! This year Kailtyn has really bloomed! She is focused on her lessons and is reading everything that she can get her hands on! YEAH!!! She also loves to teach the younger two in the evenings. They do not cooperate very well, but she loves the idea of being their teacher!

Nicholas--Two scriptures down.......how many more? I did find out this week that he can copy any letter you set in front of him. He looks at it and copies what he sees. Artist, maybe? We are still working on attention span development!

Kensli--Loves books, loves to sing, loves to color, loves to dance, loves to fight, loves to say "hate" and "shut-up", loves play-dough, etc. She loves LIFE!!!!!!!!! You can see the wheels turning when she is exposed to something new! We are still working on weight gain!

The Princess

I found these pictures, from this summer, that I had forgotten about. What a little princess!

Wow, what cute kids!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where was Nicholas? The picture was taken at my Granny's house, so he was probably with my Mom! He adores his Mam-maw and wants to be at her house when in there!

Graycie the Snoozer

Graycie is our 16lb cat. She loves to come in and sleep the day away in this chair. She was snoozing away the other day while we were working on Math! I couldn't resist taking a quick picture of her. AHHHH........the life of this cat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
